Terrifying moment tanker truck explodes in Rio de Janeiro

A security camera in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, captured the moment a gasoline tanker truck exploded on Friday morning, June 21st.
The explosion occurred at 8:43 AM, as three individuals, including an elderly person supported by a woman, were passing by. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the incident caused significant damage and alarm. Broken glass littered the street in the aftermath.
Footage reveals the "cap" of the tanker being blown into three pieces, with debris being propelled almost 100 meters away.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the truck make contact with street wiring, which was followed by a spark leading to the explosion.
Statements from Authorities
Vibra, the company that owns the vehicle, stated that the tanker was empty at the time of the explosion. "The company has mobilized all efforts to take all necessary emergency measures. There were no casualties or fuel leaks. We continue to monitor the situation," a spokesperson said.
The Civil Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion and are actively working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
